Back in Kent

Ah it's so good to know that I am back in Kent and can report on the wildlife of Canterbury! It has been a very pleasant time of year weather wise to enjoy the outdoors in this area. I have been up to the hill behind Oldpark and watched the full moon (Friday 6th October). I got back to Canterbury on Saturday 23rd September.

I walked along the Stour yesterday afternoon near to Barton Mill. I started at the Kingsmead bridge. I saw a grey wagtail on a piece of scrap wood dancing up and down catching insects. Moor hens, ducks, a wren, magpies, sea gulls, at least two Jays, and several blackbird were around. I thought I saw a young pike in the back water but it was only a space between two rocks that looked like one. There were fish in the backwater. There is still a patch of oil there.
